Job Title: Community Garden Student/ Trainee 4 Positions      CLOSING DATE: April 28 / 2017
DEPARTMENT: Heritage. Lands and Natural Resources
STATUS: Full- time Seasonal
SALARY: C/TFN Wage Scale Level 1-6 depending on education and experience

Under the direct supervision of the farm manager the community student/ trainee will assist in the continued development and operations of the Chootla Community Garden site. The Student/ trainee will be working in a multi-livestock and garden environment, be assisting in the delivery of the 4H program for children and youth, interact with elders, lead garden tours and interact with volunteers and the public on a daily basis. Work will include the opening and development of the Garden as well as a fall harvest, food processing and clean up.

Grade 12 or GED Preferred
Must have standard first aid
Computer and office skills are an asset to this position

Valid Yukon class 5 driver's license
In class and on the land training are essential to this position.
Trainees will be expected to attend and participate in a variety
Sign and abide by the C/TFN Code of ethics and conduct
Willingness to undergo a criminal record check
Willingness to work long hours, weekends and holidays when required.
Willingness to work out side and in inclement weather
Must be willing to work with a variety of livestock
May be required to do light construction work
Willingness to operate light construction and garden motorized equipment
Must be physically able to perform the duties of work in the garden
Must have cross-cultural and environmental awareness and sensitivity

An eligibility list will NOT be established from this competition. No compensation will be given for moving costs and must be eligible to work in Canada.
