Job Title: Campground Attendant
Department: Heritage, Lands and Natural Resources
Employment Status: Permanent - Seasonal
Salary: $46,620 - $73,161 / Per Annum

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Field Operation Coordinator, the Campground Attendant is responsible for maintaining the upkeep of C/TFN campgrounds. These services promote a positive camping experience for all visitors to both the Carcross and Tagish Campground. Duties may include other task associated or with this position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintaining all campground facilities to ensure they are in excellent condition.
• Reporting requests for repairs of campground infrastructure to the supervisor
• Ensuring a safe and clean environment is available for the enjoyment of campground users at all times. This includes implementing cleaning schedules (outhouses, eating areas, etc.) and disposing of garbage.
• Ensuring adequate supply of fire wood to campground users, while being observant of any misuse of the resource and reporting any such misuse to the supervisor.
• Preparing and maintaining a variety of files, records and reports pertaining to maintenance schedules, material usage, camping fees and annual camping permits.
• Collecting camping fees on a daily basis, at prescribed times, and recording annual camping pass numbers and related visitor information on log-sheets.
• Handling camping fee deposits and delivering them to the C/TFN finance office.
• Providing a positive camping experience to campground users by delivering information and assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
• Recording, investigating and responding to complaints from campground users

QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma/GED
• Knowledge of C/TFN history, culture, demographics, goals and aspirations
• Knowledge of the Southern Lakes region and Heritage related departmental goals
• Ability to lift heavy objects such as oversize garbage containers, firewood, etc.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with visitors
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently or as part of a team
• Strong decision-making skills including good judgement
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to enquiries professionally
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Decision making and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to foster a team approach to service delivery
• Completion of Peacemaking Circle Training is encouraged and will be considered an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must have or be willing to obtain Chainsaw certification
• Must have Standard First Aid Certification
• Must have a class 5 Yukon Driver's License
• Must be able to lift objections weighing up to 50 lbs.
