Position: Youth Recreation Support Worker
Department: Justice/Recreation
Term: Auxiliary on Call

Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) is seeking on-call applications from qualified individuals who wish to be considered for the Youth Recreation Support Worker position with our Department of Community Justice Recreation team.

The Youth Recreation Support Worker will provide cultural, land based, traditional and modern recreational programming to KDFN youth age 5 to 18. The Support Worker will learn about program design & implementation, about work and position requirement code of conduct, ethics, safety and have the opportunity to contribute to great recreational land based, traditional and modern (i.e.: baseball, soccer) programming. You will be working with children and youth; energy, motivation, being kind and being willing to have fun in a safe environment is essential!

· Coursework and workshops in Recreational Leadership, Outdoor Education, Child Development or similar
· Experience leading and supervising groups of various ages during recreation activities
· Experience developing monthly program activity plans and schedules
· Experience running day camps or similar programs is an asset
· Knowledge of KDFN history, culture, demographics, families, social dynamics prevailing in the community, our goals and aspirations.

Note: An equivalent combination of education & training, and considerable experience in the above areas will also be considered. This position is funding dependent.

Conditions of Employment: A satisfactory criminal records; valid class 5 Driver's License; First Aid with CPR; Food Safe Level 1

Job Requirements: This position requires flexibility of working hours in order to arrange and participate in evening and weekend recreational activities; programming will take place in variable weather conditions including rain and snow, and sometimes in more remote locations on the Land; must have the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Salary: $20.00 - $26.75 depending on experience
