Salary: Level 4 Step 1 ($2,171.30 bi-weekly)

Reporting to the Education Manager, these positions will be responsible for providing cooking services for the Breakfast and Lunch program at Robert Service School as well as community dinners identified by Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in. The main responsibilities are assisting the head cook with weekly menu plans and managing food orders, working with other cooks to collaborate on tasks, and preparing nutritious meals for the breakfast and lunch program.

Essential Qualifications:

· Cooking courses or equivalent experience;
· Experience cooking traditional foods;
· Experience cooking for 50+ people;
· Knowledge and understanding of Northern Canadian Food Guide.


· Organizational and time management skills;
· Ability to take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines;
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients;
· Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Conditions of Employment:

· Class 5 driver's license with a clear driver's abstract, and willingnessness to get a Class 4 license;
· Ability to work a flexible work schedule when required;
· Comply with TH Policies and Procedures;
· Standard First Aid / CPR, Wilderness First Aid, or willingness to obtain;
· Willingness to take training / courses to further enhance skills as needed; Food Safe, or willingness to obtain;
· Willingness to get and maintain medical clearance, annual flu shots and TB testing;
· Harassment, bullying and discrimination will not be tolerated in the work-place and could result in termination of employment for cause.
