Land & Resources Manager - Permanent
Department: Natural Resources

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: 75
Start date: Immediately
Salary: Level 9 Step 1 ($89,724.91 Annually)

Reporting to the Natural Resources Director, the incumbent assists in the development and delivery of TH Acts, policy and procedures as they pertain to land and resources management. The incumbent supervises Branch staff and is responsible for implementing lands and resources initiatives for TH. The incumbent has primary responsibility for supervising TH participation in land use planning processes, and for developing and administering the settlement land tenure system.

Essential Qualifications:

· Post-secondary diploma related to Land Use Planning and/or Resource Management, or the equivalent in training and experience;
· Knowledge of land and resource issues, legislation and regulations affecting First Nations;
· Experience using database systems;
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
· Excellent research, analysis, and proposal- and report-writing skills;
· Strong supervisory skills;
· Good problem solving skills and ability to recommend suitable alternatives;
· Ability to monitor budgets and make recommendations on variances.

Conditions of Employment:

· Criminal Records Check;
· Standard First Aid and willingness to take Advanced Wilderness First Aid;
· Valid Class 5 Driver's license with clear driver's abstract;
· Ability to work a flexible work schedule when required, to attend camps / outings, community meetings, evening and weekend activities and special events / projects;
· Comply with TH Policies and Procedures;
· Willingness to take training / courses to further enhance skills as needed / approved;
· Experience or willingness to learn to operate an ATV, Snowmobile and boat;
· Willingness to travel outside the community as required;
· Attendance at General Assemblies, as requested by the Director;
