Events and Consultations Coordinator – 1 Year Term (with possibility of extension)
Implementation, Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Government

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: 75 Full-time
Start date: Immediately
Salary: Level 5 Step 1 ($60,275)

Reporting to the Executive Operations Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating a multitude of events for TH
Administration including but not limited to cultural events, staff gatherings, presentations, community consultations and initiative development that is reflective of the heritage of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in people. The main objective is to ensure that a holistic approach is taken when developing and coordinating any event that has cultural relevance based on the Constitution and policies of the government. The position will also be responsible for proposal writing and seeking and accessing of funds from various agencies

Essential Qualifications:
· High School Dipoloma and Post-Secondary course work in Event Planning, Organizational Management, or a related discipline, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered;
· Research skills and proposal writing ability;
· Knowledge of Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in history, culture, and membership;
· Good communication skills, both oral and written;
· Program planning and development skills;
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing a program budget;
· Compiling of information and providing necessary feedback to ensure success and effective evaluation of programs;
· Experience using a computer and associated software.

Assets:

· Organizational and time management skills;
· Ability to meet deadlines and produce reports.
· Ability to work as a team member;
· Ability to establish a positive professional working relationship with staff, youth and general citizenship;
· Self-motivated and reliable.

Conditions of Employment:
· Mandatory confidentiality is a condition of employment for all Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in personnel. Failure to meet this requirement could result in dismissal.(same for all positions)
· Criminal Record Check.
· Standard First Aid or willing to obtain;
· Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
