Teslin Tlingit Council is inviting resumes for Accounts Receivable / Collections
This is an 8 (eight) month term position
Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing and managing collection services and providing credit counseling to citizens and staff on behalf of the TTC. The position is responsible for administration of accounts receivable. The position is responsible for the working with the Housing Department on current rental collection requirements and undertakes all activities associated with old housing related debts, foreclosures and associated legal action.

The position is responsible for administration of accounts receivable. The position is responsible for the working with the Housing Department on current rental collection requirements and undertakes all activities associated with old housing related debts, foreclosures and associated legal action.
Main Duties
- Performs and manages collection services and provides credit counseling
- Administers accounts receivable and works with the Housing Department with respect to current rental collection requirements and undertakes all activities associated with old housing debts and foreclosures
- Responsible for administrative and accounting duties for the Teslin Tlingit Housing Society (TTHS)
- Common duties on behalf of the Department of Finance
Education & Experience
- Grade 12 supplemented with two years course work towards an Accounting Designation, or the equivalent in training and experience
- Coursework or relevant experience using various applicable software programs such as AccPac specifically: Accounts Receivable and General Ledger modules, Aboriginal Information systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of and experience in reconciling accounts/statements
- Excel spreadsheet manipulation and production for various analytical data and other purposes
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAPP)
Conditions of Employment
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Oath of Confidentiality
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak or critical work periods such as but not limited to year-end and audit
- Willingness to complete a criminal records check
- The Finance Department positions are identified as an essential service of the TTC. As per section 8.11 of the personnel policy, when there is an office closure, the incumbents in the Finance positions may be required to work on these days as the work load requires.
