About the Company

We are a Whitehorse (Yukon) based prefab construction company. We build residential projects ranging from custom and spec homes to multi-family town house developments. We have contracts around Yukon in many different communities.

Job Description:

We are seeking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year apprentices to join our growing team. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of a skilled journeyman carpenter to learn and perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and installing building materials such as wood, metal, and drywall. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of a skilled journeyman carpenter to learn and perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including measuring, cutting, and installing building materials such as wood, metal, and drywall.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Learn how to read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks.
  • Complete tasks on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Participate in training and professional development programs to learn new skills and advance your career.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, tools, and work completed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program and working towards a certification.
  • Prior experience in carpentry is an asset.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to perform carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions effectively.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors.
