Position Overview:
WHC is seeking a Class 1 Picker Truck Operator/Labourer. As a member of our Team you are accountable and responsible for the safe transportation of materials to job sites and various labour work. You have the responsibility to ensure all legal requirements and maintenance of Company equipment is executed. You work well under limited supervision or in a Team setting and performs tasks of substantial variety or complexity. 
Responsibilities include:
  •  Operating a flat deck truck with picker, pickup truck, skid steer, fork lift.
  •  Loading material with forklift, picker or by hand and properly securing loads
  •  Operating Picker to set walls and roofs systems.
  •  Manage urgent deliveries to site and pick up requests by email and phone.
  •  Cleanup construction sites of excess and waste material
  •  Maintain a legal Driver’s logbook.
  •  Complete pre and post trip inspections and correct or report all defects immediately.
  •  Maintain a flow of loads and deliveries to construction sites according to the transport schedule and its priorities.
  •  Reports on status of repairs and maintenance according to schedule for all equipment used.
  •  Maintain Safety and Health standard in the workplace.
  •  Perform additional duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  •  Must have a Class 1 License.
  •  Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or material up to 50 lbs.
  •  Must be able to prioritize work effectively.
  •  May be require to work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
  •  Exposure to outdoor elements.
  •  Overtime required.
  •  Must be able to use phone based Apps and Outlook effectively.
  •  Large crane experience a strong asset in the future.
  •  Carpentry experience a definite asset.
