Description/Duties
THE OPPORTUNITY
This position will appeal to someone who has experience working within communications or public relations within a First Nation organization. Reporting to the Director, Justice and Governance, the Communications Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of FNNND’s internal and external communication strategies. You may also be required to write funding proposals.

THE PERSON
We are looking for someone who is genuinely a good listener, a good writer and creative. You will be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, receive the right message through facts and transcribe to publications that are suitable and fit the Nation in correspondence initiatives. 
Requirements/Qualifications
Ideally you will possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or equivalent supplemented by 5-8 years experience within this field. Your excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills along with editorial experience will be key to your success in this position. 
 
Familiarity with the use of standard office equipment and demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office and Outlook is necessary.
 
Special Working Conditions
Criminal Record Check and Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Abstract.
