Description/Duties
  • Acknowledge all guests and customers, however busy and whatever time of day
  • Answering phone, making, cancelling or changing reservations
  • Check-in and check-out hotel guests in a confident, professional, and friendly manner
  • Calculate guest charges and receive payments
  • Ensure guest is satisfied with accommodations as well as offer any assistance
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly
  • Review arrivals noting special requests and blocking rooms as necessary for VIP and group arrivals
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area and about services available in the community
  • Complete all items as listed on shift checklists
  • Balancing total payments received at end of work shift and reconcile with total sales
  • Various other clerical duties
  • Resolve guest complaints
  • Ensure proper credit card procedures are followed
  • Advise guests of any messages, mail, faxes, etc. received for them
  • Establishing or identifying the price of goods and services we offer
  • Operate Reservation, POS and lottery system
  • Stocking coolers and shelves with grocery products
  • Inventory
  • Ordering
  • Ensuring shelfs are faced and in order at all time
  • Ensuring the best deals on products carried
  • Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
  • Keeping public and working areas clean
  • Minimal food preparation
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol or tobacco
  • Offsales and bar service
  • Occasional Housekeeping duties: make beds and change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries, stock linen closets and housekeeping carriers, clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers, wash windows, walls and ceilings as required
  • Handle and report lost and found items
  • Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items
Requirements/Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Have a valid B.A.R.S. or Some other type of Smart Bar Service Course
  • Willing to train for each aspect of the job
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Food Safety Course an asset
  • Must be 19 years' old
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to handle cash
  • Hotel, Housekeeping, Serving, Cashier, Minimal Cooking & Restaurant experience an asset
