Human Resources Assistant — Term

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: 75
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: 1 Year Term (with possible extension)
Salary: Level 4 Step 1 ($2,302.12 Bi-weekly)

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position provides a range of human resources functions, including clerical, administrative and logistical support for the Tr'ondek Hwech'in Human Resources Department. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with information processing, records management, recruitment and hiring, staff training, event / activity planning and coordination. This position contributes to the department's overall operation by assisting with point of contact requests to ensure quality supports and services are provided to TH citizens and employees.

An Eligibility List may be established from this competition - the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 (or equivalency) with previous related office administration work. An equivalent combination of skills and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating events / activities.
  • Some experience performing basic office duties such as filing, answering phones, printing, shredding etc.
  • Experience working with computers and software including, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet and Zoom for videoconferencing.
  • Proven ability to be reliable, self-motivated and punctual.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and within a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to communicate and maintain the importance of strict confidentiality.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize work requirements and meet deadlines.

Conditions of Employment:
