Position: Interpretive Guide
Full time: 37.5 Hours a Week
Rate: $18/hour
This is a contracted position from May 16th- August 12, 2023, for 450 Hours.
Job Description:
The Interpretive Guide will be responsible for facilitating cultural activities as well as being knowledgeable of such activities like Beading, Painting & Carving. The Interpretive Guide would also be responsible for the interactions with guests and providing them with an educational interpretive experience sharing stories & influences providing a knowledgeable and memorable experience while greeting guests promptly and professionally.
Full time: 37.5 Hours a Week
Rate: $18/hour

Job Description:
The Interpretive Guide will be responsible for facilitating cultural activities as well as being knowledgeable of such activities like Beading, Painting & Carving. The Interpretive Guide would also be responsible for the interactions with guests and providing them with an educational interpretive experience sharing stories & influences providing a knowledgeable and memorable experience while greeting guests promptly and professionally.

- Must Photograph and Document the project daily
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Assist with over all appearance and cleanliness of the site
- Manage the guest book
- Hand out promotional Material such as pamphlets & business cards
Required Experience:
The candidate for this position should be an outgoing articulate individual who understands the social issues surrounding First Nation communities and must be knowledgeable and respectful of First Nations Traditional Laws & Values.
- Diploma or Certification in Tourism Studies & Management an Asset
- Experience working in a Museum, Culture Centre, or Info Visitor Centre an Asset
- Ability to accept Guidance, Direction & Supervision
- Able to give Feedback & Share Ideas Professionally and Appropriately
- Knowledgeable of Yukon First Nations Culture & History
- Knowledge of Yukon First Nations Studies an Asset (Northern & Southern Tutchone)
