Minute Taker – Auxiliary On-Call
Department: Various Departments
Location: Tr’ondek Hwech’in Offices – Dawson, YT
Posting Date: January 23, 2023
Standard Hours Bi-Weekly: Auxiliary On-Call
Salary: Level 3 Step 1 ($27.90 hourly)
Closing Date 4:00pm (YST): Ongoing
This position is responsible for recording meeting minutes at various meetings and events. The minute taker may be required to prepare for meetings by becoming familiar with the agenda, attendance list, previous meeting minutes (as needed) and by discussing any concerns or issues with the supervisor prior to the meeting. The minute taker will record notes that accurately reflect decisions and discussion that take place at the meeting, review the information with the meeting Chair to ensure the details are correct, and then write up the notes in a timely manner, and in an agreed upon format, ensuring the information is easily discerned and communications are clear.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Grade 10 combined with experience in clerical functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), interpreting tables/graphs/etc., using Internet and Microsoft Outlook for distribution.
- Experience organizing and formatting notes.
- Well-developed listening and verbal comprehension skills.
- Friendly, respectful and professional.
Assets:
- Punctual and reliable.
- Ability to take direction as requested.
