Description/Duties
Reporting to the Employment and Training Officer, the Post-Secondary Education and Training Coordinator administers the TH Post-Secondary Education and Short-term Training Programs. This role completes many administrative functions, as well as performs educational outreach and support to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in (TH) citizens. The position will also provide mentorship to Assistants, Interns or Summer Students who are hired in the area.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Diploma / Certificate combined with completion of some post-secondary coursework in Business, Education, Arts or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills and abilities may be considered.
- A minimum of two years’ work experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of education and training issues affecting First Nations people, particularly TH Citizens.
- Familiarity with available post-secondary education and training institutions and programs;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant experiences using computers and programs, including MS Outlook, Word & Excel.
- Tactful, respectful and able to use good judgment.
- Takes initiative, able to work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
