Reporting to the Executive Assistant, this position is an essential member of the Governance and Executive Operations Department. The position has a direct and daily impact on the reputation and operations of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government, and requires a high degree of responsibility and mental agility. The incumbent must value their ability to be routinely punctual, reliable and dependable and strive to maintain an environment that is organized, tidy and structured. They must also be capable of establishing respectful rapports with staff, citizens and the public, and be able to cope professionally with shifting priorities, high workloads, and managing difficult people and situations. As a member of the Governance and Executive Operations Department, the receptionist may be privy to highly confidential correspondence and information. Mandatory confidentiality is a condition of employment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of grade 10 or equivalency with experience in customer service or working with the public. An equivalent combination of education, knowledge and demonstrated skills and experience may be considered.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience using general office equipment such as digital telephones, computers, printers & shredders.
  • Punctual, reliable and dependable.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and respectfully with all citizens, staff and the public.
  • Ability to seek and follow direction and to accept feedback.


  • Experience with Microsoft365 and Teams.
  • Experience with auto-postage machines.
  • Experience within a First Nation Government.
