Temporary, Full Time, Flex Time Term September 11, 2023 – June 28, 2024 - PSAC Bargaining Unit Position
The Intern position is a member of the bargaining. The position is designed to provide learning opportunities and will not complete tasks in an unsupervised environment. Internships are generally 4 to 8 months and provide general support for the appropriate program area at the Yukon Arts Centre Corporation (YACC).
This position provides support as assigned by the Director of Production. All works is pre-determined and conducted under supervision.
Comply with YACC’s Policies including the Respectful Workplace and Health, Safety and Wellness Policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations published by the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board.
Working Conditions:
Work is completed in a professional theatre environment and multi-purpose venue (Old Fire Hall) and is directed by the Director of Production or his designate in a training program. The work is physical and involves the following hazards:

- Slipping/tripping hazards
- Working at heights
- Electrical Safety
- Excessive noise
- Stress/Fatigue
- Working with Small Tools

- Chemical hazards (depending on show requirements)
Requirements/Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an arts training program in College or University.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of arts and cultural programming.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and use of the internet
Abilities:
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to do physical work
- Ability to maintain a helpful and friendly manner
- Ability to work irregular hours
